How we run a rematch
Five rounds, one winner, and a clear answer for players who prefer the other game.
1Pick a fair pair
We only compare games that answer the same question for the player: two open-world racers, two factory builders, two deflection-based action games. Different budgets and sizes are fine.
2Five rounds
Each rematch has five rounds chosen for that genre, such as handling, depth, story, value or Steam Deck support. Each round goes to one game, with a one-line reason.
3The score is separate
The overall score out of 100 is calculated the same way for every game on the site. A game can lose a rematch on rounds and still have a high score.
4Always a second answer
Every rematch ends with who should pick the other game. There is rarely a wrong choice between two good games, only a wrong choice for you.
